What can I expect during the peel?
During the peel, tingling, itching, burning, and warmth may be felt, but will diminish after 2-4 minutes. A fan may be used to minimize discomfort.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare my skin for this peel?
Avoid electrolysis, waxing, depilatory creams, laser hair removal, and sun exposure one week before and after peel. Avoid strenuous exercise starting the day of the procedure and while skin is healing. Discontinue retinols, and products containing acids, benzoyl peroxide or any other ingredients that may be drying to the skin 2-3 days prior to peel. Resume regular use of retinoids, products containing acids or other drying ingredients after the healing process is completed.

What can I expect after the peel?
The SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel is self-neutralizing, meaning it will be left on the skin and should remain on the skin for at least 6 hours before washing it off. The Rejuvenize Peel can leave a temporary yellow to orange appearance on the skin that may darken but will fade after a few hours.

How many days will I peel?
Downtime will vary from patient to patient, but skin will generally start peeling between 48-72 hours after the procedure and can last 2-5 days. Regardless the degree of skin peeling, the skin is still sloughing off at an accelerated rate. Never peel at skin that is flaking. Use scissors to clip hanging skin. Skin may appear darker while healing, which is normal.

How often can I get this peel?
Results can be seen in as little as 3 weeks after first treatment. Additional treatments can be repeated every 4-6 weeks until desired results are reached.
