Every day your skin is exposed to environmental irritants, toxins and sun damage. As a result, the top layer of your skin may appear dull, show fine lines and wrinkles, and worsen already existing skin conditions. Skincare treatments can help to clear away damaged skin cells to reveal healthier, more youthful looking skin. Some of the most common esthetician services we provide include Dermaplane, HydraFacial and facial peels.
Our Dermaplane treatment is designed to remove fine hair and dead skin cells off of the skin’s surface with an exfoliating blade. Useful for most skin types, dermaplaning aims to make your skin’s surface smooth and radiant. There is no downtime and little risk of side effects, making it a convenient treatment you could do over your lunch hour. Dermaplane treatments can be performed every four to six weeks based on your skin’s hair growth.
A moisturizing treatment that is noninvasive and nonirritating, our HydraFacial is a great option for all skin types. Using water as a gentle exfoliating medium, this multistep treatment exfoliates, lays down a light peel, extracts impurities, and then infuses hydrators and antioxidants into the skin. After treatment you’ll notice smoother, softer and more hydrated skin, with the added benefit of nutrient rich serums that temporarily plump fine lines and wrinkles. It is recommended to schedule a HydraFacial every four to six weeks, dependent upon your esthetician’s assessment of your specific needs.
A peel is a resurfacing procedure where a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layers, causing the skin to grow back looking smoother and younger. A peel can diminish signs of aging such as age spots and fine lines, treat certain skin conditions and reduce discoloration. After a peel, you’ll notice fewer lines and wrinkles, a more even skin tone and brighter skin.
“Our light grade peels are designed to remove dead skin cells, which in turn produce collagen and elastin under the skin, and also helps at home products penetrate down under the dermis where they need to be to work their best. Our deeper peels remove layers of dead skin, which in turn resurfaces the skin for a smoother, more radiant skin surface” says Marilyn Matyja, licensed esthetician and oncology certified skincare therapist at Dreams MedSpa.
Usually performed about every six weeks, frequency is based on each patient’s specific treatment plan. A complete consultation and evaluation is important before a chemical peel is administered.
